Institutional Scholarships

We are pleased that you are interested in learning about scholarship opportunities at BHU. Scholarships are a great source of funding for higher education. We encourage you to apply with many organizations and scholarship providers in addition to the BHU scholarships. Please use this website as a resource. Although many opportunities are presented on this website, we encourage you to seek scholarships from other sources as well.

NOTE: SCHOLARSHIP SUBMISSION DEADLINE DATE IS August 6th, 2018 FOR THE fall 2018 SEMESTER.

2018-2019 SCHOLARSHIP LIST

• Tuition needs will be evaluated/determined by the Financial Aid office.

• Scholarships are awarded on a semester to semester basis.

• All students are eligible to apply, including International Students.

Presidential scholarship criteria

• Undergraduate and Graduate scholarship criteria apply
• Must complete the scholarship packet
• Must have 3.5 GPA

General scholarship criteria: (Undergraduate)

• Must complete the Scholarship packet
• Must have a 2.5 GPA
• Max 1 course - Non Pell Eligible Undergraduate Students
• Max 4 courses - Pell Eligible Undergraduate Students (Pell award will be considered in final scholarship award)

General scholarship criteria: (Graduate)

• Must complete the Scholarship packet
• Must have a 3.0 GPA

SUBMIT THE FOLLOWING:

In order to be considered you will need to gather all of the documents listed below and submit them to the Financial Aid Office. Late applications will not be considered under any circumstance.

Please Note: The student is responsible for collecting and turning in all documents to the Financial Aid Office. Please do not have recommendations and letters of reference submitted separately. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

• Scholarship Application (Scholarship Applicaiton Form)
• Department Chair recommendation (Department Chair Recommendation Form)
• 2 References from non-family member (Scholarship Reference Form)
• 500 word essay on one of the following topics:  What is the most valuable class you have taken at BHU and how do you feel it has prepared you for the future? 

Once the Deadline has passed the Financial Aid Office will submit all completed applications to the Scholarship Committee.

The Scholarship Committee will review and award scholarships within two weeks of the submission deadline. All applicants will be notified via email of the Committee’s decision.
